The Algonquin Trading Post (Call Toll Free 1.866.228.2246) 13162B Highway 60 Golden Lake, ON K0J 1X0 in Deacon Ontario, Canada, was founded by Aimee Bailey & Doug Fischer primarily to serve as an outlet for aboriginal arts and crafts, which are fundamental to the way of life of the Anishnabe, (Our People) and as a way to educate the general public about the philosophy and culture of the Algonquin First Nations people.
While most of the items in their store are new, they have been created using the old, traditional ways. Some of the things you will find include: Hide Clothing, Buckskin Shirts & Dresses, Ceremonial Ribbon Shirts & Dresses, Jewelry, Artwork, Books and other cultural items and artifacts.
LOCATION
The Algonquin Trading Post is located at 13162B Highway 60, Golden Lake, Ontario, K0J 1X0, about 10 km west of the Pikwakanagan First Nation and the hamlet of Golden Lake. The small hamlet of Deacon is almost halfway between the city of Ottawa and south gates of Algonquin Park.
