Astrid Nordholt of Fraggletops© Studio in Combermere, Ontario, designs, knits and weaves a delightful selection of one-of-a-kind hats and garments. A textile artist with a flair for design and color, Astrid’s hats are a work of art; each an original creation with a distinctive ‘persona’ all its own. Astrid also delights in weaving beautiful fabrics from which she makes luxurious scarves, shrugs, shawls, jackets, vests, ponchos and thirsty tea towels.

Fraggletops© are hand knit hats for all ages. From newborn to adult, each is an original creation. No two hats are ever alike! Most of the children’s hats are made of washable acrylic. Others are made from hand-spun wool, alpaca, mohair, silk or bamboo. Some of the hats are lined with dyed or natural sheep’s wool locks. Colours and styles are exciting - sometimes wild - always attractive!

Astrid’s handwoven products include: Scarves, (woven from silk, wool, orlon, chenille, mohair, tencil) Ponchos, Jackets, Vests, Shrugs, Shawls, Tea Towels, Place Mats and Runners. All articles may be made to order in your choice of colour, fiber and design.

During the summer, Astrid’s work is on display at the Combermere Craft Gallery. Astrid also attends various craft shows throughout Renfrew County and the Ottawa Valley.
