Hubert’s Springhill Nursery and Garden Center (613.732.3878) is located at 1892 Petawawa Boulevard, Pembroke Ontario, K8A 7H4. From Zeller’s in the west end mall in Pembroke, it is approximately a 5 minute drive west. From Petawawa, heading east to Pembroke, its about a 10 minute drive. Kathleen and David Hubert have been doing business at this location since 1982.

Hubert’s Nursery has an extensive selection of plants, flowers and shrubs to choose from, many of which are grown in their own greenhouse. With one of the largest selection of perennials in the area, a huge selection of seasonal hanging baskets, plants and supplies for water gardens, shade trees, shrubs, evergreens, fertilizer, (bulk and bag) tropicals, cacti, orchids, bonsai trees, and a huge assortment of house plants, you can be sure of finding something to take home with you every time you visit.
Hubert’s even have a talented young bonsai apprentice carefully learning the art of pruning these lovely dwarf, ornamental trees.
In addition to the large assortment of gardening and pond making supplies, Huberts also carry a line of containers, peat pots and a whimsical selection of garden decor including cement, wood and ornamental yard and garden art.
You can also purchase potting soil, topsoil and mulch in bulk or in bags. Bring your own trailer and take home a load!

GETTING THERE
Hubert’s Springhill Nursery is located on Petawawa Boulevard, the main through-fare between Pembroke and Petawawa. From the West End Shopping Mall, Hubert’s is approximately 5 kilometers – about a 5 minute drive heading west toward Petawawa.
From Canadian Forces Base Petawawa, it is about a 10 minute drive, heading east toward Pembroke.
IF YOU’RE LUCKY…
You will get to meet the resident frogs. This photogenic fellow spent the winter in the luxury and warmth of the indoor pond. His buddy was hiding in a flower pot nearby the day I was there. He really did not feel up to having his picture taken, but perhaps next time…
Not to be outdone, the beautiful Japanese Koi were eager to line up for a photo-shoot, as well. They like to nibble Kathleen’s fingers when she reaches in to tickle them, which they seem to enjoy immensely!
