Kathryn Michaud (613.646.2909) is a local, trans-disciplinary artist of national acclaim. In 1990, the ‘Globe and Mail’ hailed her as the “Weaver of Dreams.” To this day, this has remained the focus of Kathryn’s creative talents!
Kathryn holds several degrees, including DEC, BA, and an MA in Visual Arts. Her materials of choice are polymer clays, recycled fabrics, horse hair and found objects. Kathryn’s work is symbolic and interpretive, expressing historical and mythical elements interwoven into each piece she creates.
Kathryn places highest importance to the use of horse hair in her creations, primarily due to her great love of the animal and its symbolic association with the female spirit in Celtic mythology. In addition to her artistic creations, Kathryn also offers art classes in the following disciplines:
