Mary Olsen, Artist, Eganville

Mary Olsen, (613.628.5871) an artist from the Eganville area, specializes in scenic watercolor paintings and creative wood-turned bowls. Mary utilizes the flora, fauna and spectacular scenery of the Upper Ottawa Valley as the inspiration for many of her paintings and locally found wood for her hand turned bowls.

Salvaged wood, green wood and end-cut wood of White Birch, dead Elm, or the newly dead wood of the Butternut tree, a rare and endangered species, are used to create lovely, one-of-a-kind bowls.

Mary is a member of the Renfrew Art Guild and has been juried in to the Valley Arts Council Show in Pembroke for many years. Mary shows her work at many of the guild evens including the Calabogie Art Show and the Algonquin Park Visitor’s Center Show with the Madawaska Art Group.
